Quixpin v2.0 is in development! It will be a universal binary for iPhone / iPad and free upgrade for existing users. The most exciting feature we're announcing is that it will have mappable CoreMIDI support. You'll be able to use it with any USB-MIDI class compliant controller. The one in the video is the Vestax Spin. It will also introduce a variety of effects and other exciting features. Stay tuned!

Quixpin is available on the App StoreQuixonic is proud to announce that Quixpin v1.9 is available on the iOS app store. Now you can mix with tunes directly from your iOS music library. No web/FTP servers, conversion, 3rd party apps, or weird interim "import" steps required. Just choose a song and MIX!

Here's the list of features from the latest update:

  • Ability to mix with tunes directly from the music library (iOS 4.1 required)
  • iTunes file sharing (iOS 3.2+ required)
  • Ability to delete files over web / FTP
  • Fixes for iPad and iPhone 4 user interfaces
  • Performance improvements across the board

We know you've been wanting to load your own music on your phone since day one when we were the only DJ app for the iPhone in existance. So when Apple finally let developers access the library this summer, we had to jump right on it. We've been hard at work on Quixpin v2.0, which will have a completely new, optimized audio engine, effects, cue points, a new single pane design, and a ton of other great features that our users have been clammering for, but this is one feature that could not wait. So we fixed some bugs, make some performance improvements, and add this one big feature that EVERYBODY wanted.

New and Improved! Quixpin Gets Updated!

Quixpin is available on the App StoreQuixonic is proud to announce the availability of the latest release of Quixpin - the first and definitive DJ app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. This is a free upgrade for existing users and still a fraction of the cost of not only desktop applications and hardware, but a fraction of the cost of other apps that don't even have half the functionality!

Continuing in Quixonic's tradition of innovation for mobile audio apps, we've included some features you'd never believe were possible on a mobile device until today. These include automatic BPM detection, beat mapping and syncing, and the ability to record your mixes in real time.

Here's the full list of features from the latest update:

  • Ability to play MP3 files
  • Ability to upload and download music with an internal Web server as well as FTP
  • Automatic BPM detection and beat detection
  • Improved wave form display also displays current BPM and where the actual beats are within the audio track
  • Quixync feature automatically matches the BPMs for songs in each deck
  • Ability to record your mixes! (iPhone 3Gs, touch 2G/3G only)
  • Completely adjustable cross-fader. For the first time, you can control the power of the channels as you cross-fade between Deck A and Deck B.
  • Multiple Output Modes:
    • Standard PFL Left, Master Right mode
    • Switched PFL Right, Master Left mode
    • Full stereo mode (no PFL) for visual mixing
    • External mixer mode, Deck A goes to the left channel, Deck B goes to the right channel
  • Adjustable speed control, pitch direction, pitch nudge, and pitch bend
  • Ability to turn song looping on / off
  • Improved performance and bug fixes
