Design Requests

By swarrine - Posted on 25 March 2010

The first thing is you need to somehow get the crossfader and the start/stop of the decks together so you can do a straight slam mix from one song to another (a radio style mix for new DJ's and non mixing DJ's).
For the beat mixing DJ's the best way is to have a 4/8/16 bar loop so you can get the mix at the right tempo then stop the looping as you bring in the mix.
I don't know about the rest of you but I find the knobs impossible.  I would rather have sliders.
The bass kill (I personally think) takes out too much in to the mid range and should be scaled back some.
A couple of FX would be nice too.
I am totally in to having really portable DJ equipment.  Right now I DJ out of a netbook.  This product, if improved, would be good for after hours and impromptu parties. Maybe someday...
I like that this product has a clean relatively easy to see interface. I think this product has great potential, keep it up.
Thank you.

I would add to your requests to allow swiping gestures to go between screens. it would be faster and more intuitive.

Thank you both for your feedback and suggestions.

  • We are looking at a new style of interface that might bring everything into a single screen. We've had lots of requests to put the play button on the same screen as the mixer. There's a lot of functionality so it is a bit of a challenge to get it all in one place.
  • The knobs were created as a way to have slider style functionalty without taking up the space of a slider. Right now they work by dragging them up and down (as opposed to trying to rotate them). We will be allowing you to set how this so that users will be able to choose whether or not rotating or sliding the knobs fits them best. We will also look at implementing sliders if there is space.
  • The same is true for the effects. We actually have a wide array of DSP effects in our library, but had a limited amount of space to put them in. This is something else we look to add in the new design.
  • Finally, we'll take another look at tightening the low EQ even further.

Thanks again for the feedback. If you have more, please let us know!
